Michael Jarvis was born in Montreal but has deep roots in Nova Scotia. Michael is an eleventh generation Black Canadian and a descendant of Black Canadian Loyalists with American and Indigenous ancestry. Michel was born in Montreal but has deep roots in Nova Scotia.

Michael is the 3 times great grand nephew of Boxing legend Sam Langford. His ancestry can be traced to Black Loyalist and Pioneer Sargent Thomas Peters. He is also the nephew of Deputy Commander of his Majesties Royal Canadian Snowbirds, Walter Peters. 

Michael has had a long career in film, television, and the web industry and has produced and directed several short documentary films.
